If you have a PostScript Printer Description (PPD) file for you printer, select <guibutton>Provide PPD File</guibutton> then click the icon next to <guilabel>None</guilabel> and select the file you wish to use. Otherwise, make sure <guibutton>Select Printer From Database</guibutton> is selected and select the manufacturer of your printer from the list. After you have finished, click <guibutton>Forward</guibutton>.

Make sure the Universe repository is enabled. The easiest way to do this is through Synaptic. Launch Synaptic by choosing <menuchoice><guimenu>Applications</guimenu><guimenuitem>System</guimenuitem><guimenuitem>Synaptic Package Manager</guimenuitem></menuchoice>. Then from the menus select <menuchoice><guimenu>Settings</guimenu><guimenuitem>Repositories</guimenuitem></menuchoice>.
