To view and edit the permissions on files and directories, first open <application>Konqueror</application> in file manager mode by selecting <guilabel>Home Folder</guilabel> from the <guimenu>System Menu</guimenu> located next to the <application>KMenu</application> icon in the bottom left corner of your display.
